1. Who we are
Weekly Meal Planner is operated by Mohammed Fahad Nari, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR, Mohammed Fahad Nari is the data controller for personal data processed through the service.
2. Personal data we collect
- Account data — name, email address, login credentials.
- Household data — names of household members, dietary restrictions, dislikes, and other planning preferences you choose to enter.
- Service usage — recipes you import or create, meal plans, grocery lists, notes, and ratings.
- Support messages — anything you send us through the app's support channel.
- Technical data — IP address, device identifiers, browser type, and basic telemetry needed to operate the service and prevent abuse.
Payment card and billing address details are collected directly by our payment provider, Paddle, and are not stored on our systems.
3. Why we process your data
- Provide the service — creating your account, syncing your household, importing recipes (contract).
- Security and fraud prevention — protecting accounts and quotas (legitimate interest).
- Customer support — answering your questions (contract / legitimate interest).
- Product improvement — understanding aggregate usage to improve features (legitimate interest).
- Legal compliance — meeting tax, accounting, and other legal obligations (legal obligation).
4. Who we share data with
- Service providers — hosting and database infrastructure used to run the service.
- Merchant of Record — Paddle.com Market Ltd, our online reseller, handles payments, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Professional advisers — accountants and legal advisers where necessary.
- Authorities — where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers are located outside the UK / EEA. Where data is transferred internationally we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses to protect it.
6. Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep records (for example, invoices) for tax or legal reasons.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, port, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can exercise these rights by contacting us through the app. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level database security to protect your data.
9. Cookies
We use only essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and to operate the service. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
